On Tuesday, Nov. 16th Port Veritas began new era for spoken word in Maine at Portland’s most intimate jazz & blues venue BLUE. 

Tonight Port Veritas continues spoken word in their new home with featured poet Matt Gallant.  Matthew P. Gallant is a high school English teacher for the past eight years, he utilizes slam in the classroom on a daily basis and will be bringing a Youth team from his school to the 2011 BNV Festival in Oakland, CA.  Matthew also runs Sargent Press, which publishes individual chapbooks of poetry for poets like Brandi MacDonald, Ryan McLellan, Wil “1-L” Gibson and yearly anthologies including the work of Billy Collins, Donald Hall, Robert Pinsky, Iyeoka Okoawo and many, many others.
