Raised overseas by a music teacher and a Chicago blues guitarist, Sam LoCascio was destined (and pretty much forced) to be a musician from an early age. Somewhere in his early twenties, after having accompanied numerous hard rock groups as a bassist, drummer, singer and guitarist, he decided to tone down the volume and focus on his abilities as a solo acoustic musician. As a medical research scientist by day, Sam would hit the subways of Boston and NYC at night to hone his ability to connect with an audience that hadn’t cared about him seconds before. After moving to Brooklyn in 2010, he was fortunate enough to become acquainted with a number of similarly minded musicians that helped inspire and guide him as a developing folk singer/songwriter, as his recently released debut solo EP, “Sink or Swim” is testament to. With that under his belt, Sam has said farewell to science for the time being and hit the road playing shows across the US in support of his new EP and his own peace of mind. http://www.reverbnation.com/samlocascio
