Mark Tipton enjoys a richly varied career in music-related performing arts.  Throughout the years he has performed extensively as a Jazz and Classical Trumpeter, Jazz and Pop Vocalist, Trombonist, Euphonium Player, Pianist, Actor, and (at one time) as a Violinist/Fiddler.  Mark composes prolifically, and has premiered many compositions, both small- and large-scale during the past ten years.  He has taught Trumpet and Jazz at the collegiate level through his positions at Colby College and the University of Southern Maine.  He has also amassed a long list of private students of all ages whom he has taught outside of institutional walls.  Founder and director of the Chamber Ensemble Les Sorciers Perdus and a Jazz Trio under his own name, he is also a co-founder and co-director of the the 19-pieceFogcutters Big Band.
