5PM: ART OPENING FOR LISA SCALI: series of Portraits

6PM: Builder of the House (http://builderofthehouse.com/fr_news.cfm) The music combines elements of bluegrass and folk with vocal effects, percussive guitar and lyrics that volley between spirituality, metaphysics, and the human experience at large.

8PM: Ryan Flaherety CD RELEASE! (http://www.ryanflahertymusic.com/) – Gypsy-percussion-guitarist and singer-songwriter, Ryan Flaherty will be releasing his debut CD, Hungry Moon, on November 4th, 2011 at Blue in Portland, ME. The live performance will begin at 8pm. Flaherty will be performing his own original compositions from his debut album Hungry Moon. Joined by a full band, Flaherty will feature the many artists that appear on his new album. The line-up includes Flaherty on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Portland jazz guitarist Mike Arciero on lead guitar, Portland bassist Duane Edwards on upright-bass and also joined by Worcester musicians Dan Hunt on banjo, Ed Melikian on oud and Joe Zupan on percussion. All of the above musicians perform on several tracks throughout the new CD.

10PM: OKBARI with bellydancers (http://okbari.org/)Okbari presents music from the richly varied contemporary and historic cultural traditions of the Middle East including Ottoman Turkish Classical compositions, rural Turkish folk and devotional songs, Arabic classical and folk music, and dance music from the Armenian and Turkish immigrant diasporas.
