Adam Frederick is an eclectic and exciting musician, composer and producer that has tackled a diverse range of styles including funk, jazz, folk, rock, roots, blues and classical. Most know Adam as the bassist for The Jason Spooner Trio, with whom he co-wrote the top 20 song “Half A Mind”. However, this musical jack of all trade’s credentials do not end there. He has received a variety of awards for his work including the Cup of Vienna, The Ralph T. Gould Award for vocals, The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for bass and The Maine NATS among others. . His compositional work for the original stage production “Birds Eye View” received the Critics Choice Award at the 2004 SummerWorks Theatre Festival. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and the White House in addition to countless clubs and venues across the US, Canada and Europe. Recently, Frederick produced Marion Grace’s debut album, “Lying Down Looking Up”, which has received ample praise for its texture and detail.

Adam is also involved in a variety of side projects, including creation of the band Frederick, who has been described as a local “super group” by The Portland Phoenix. This quartet of jazz musicians have taken the concepts of folk and classic rock music and turned them on their heads. They create a unique, raw and edgy sound using primarily acoustic instruments.

He is scoring music for a slasher horror film ” She Feast”, and is working on music with the creators of “Vacationlanders”
