Andrea Re & Friends
Monday - January, 21 @ 6:00pm
Andrea Re will be joined by Charles Brown on piano and Mike Campbell on guitar.
Growing up in a very musical family in central Maine, Andrea was exposed to and enjoyed a variety of musical bents. For many years her Dad was the head of the Colby Collage department of music and the Conductor of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. She is a self- taught vocalist, percussionist and keyboard player who began writing songs at the age of 13, and in her early 20’s formed an original music band that played all over New England. This multi-faceted group eventually brought her to the US Virgin Islands where she lived for just under a decade, working with a wide assortment of professional musicians performing Jazz, Salsa, Reggae and Brazilian music. She acted in the local theatre as well as formed a successful Carnival troupe, designed costumes and assisted in the building of various floats.
Andrea then moved to Manhattan and flourished in the abundant talent of like- minded musicians. She was hired as a side man, played gigs in NYC and toured the US and Europe.
Andrea has appeared on many national and international television shows and live performance stages over the years.
After returning to Maine, she has performed live. She has also recorded with many national and local musicians. She is currently teaching herself guitar, bass, steel pans and lever harp.
“I love the challenges and rewards of original projects, my own and other’s. I can deliver a song from the heart or be a supportive band member, enabling others to do the same”
