Anthony Branca is a jazz and rock guitarist and electric bassist in the greater Portland area. Anthony’s improvisation is historical, drawing influence from such players as Joe Pass, Jim Hall, and Grant Green, but present in the modern world, drawing influence from such players as Julian Lage, Lionel Loueke, and Gilad Hekselman. At the University of Southern Maine, he studies under notable Maine guitarists Gary Wittner and Keith Crook. He can be seen performing regularly on guitar in the Portland-based jazz ensemble Old Sultan, and on bass in award-winning Fryeburg-based folk rock band, Junco.
