Singer/Songwriter Britt Connors blends blues, folk, and country with jazz voicings and pop sensibilities. For Britt's latest album "Warmer Season" she put together her talented band, Bourbon Renewal, made up of some of Boston's finest musicians. The recording includes clapping, foot-stomping, a horn section, and even some whistling, creating its own sub-category of Americana they've deemed "Y'all-Ternative" music. Her acclaimed debut album "The Bad Side of Good" (recorded under her maiden name Britt "Sawdon") presents insightful lyrics and captivating melodic tunes, many of which she now performs with refreshed Bourbon Renewal arrangements. For the past decade, Britt has been honing her craft as a songwriter while building a loyal following and performing at some of the top venues in the Boston area, including Club Passim, The Bull Run, Johnny D's, Toad and Atwood's in Cambridge, plus venues throughout New England and as far as Rockwood Music Hall in NYC.
Bourbon Renewal is Britt's working band, a tight ensemble well-steeped in a wide range of American music. Members are some of Boston's most in-demand musicians:
John Funkhouser on keys,
Greg Loughman/Ed Lucie on bass,
Andrew Stern on lead guitars, and
Mike Connors on percussion.
Britt also performs her music solo and in various duo and trio settings for more intimate venues.
