Julia Anrather & Grand Kid

Friday - July, 13 @ 6:00pm

Julia Anrather is a musician and performer raised in NYC and living in Brooklyn. She released her first few singles online and caught the attention of Refinery29 who asked her to “give us more, please”. And she did, releasing her first EP Quentin in 2017. The Wild Honey Pie premiered her track “Sweeter Than You” and Impose Magazine included her single “Closer” in their Week in Pop and Year in Pop lists. “Closer” then had a second life when it was remixed by the EDM trio Curtis Alto and released in Europe where it charted on Belgian pop radio. Indie Current premiered her music video for “Closer”, which just won Best Music Video at NYCIndie Film Festival. This year she’s been working on her next album with her band Dan Kleederman, Alex Goldberg, Ryan Dieringer, Emily Brown, and Taja Cheek to be released fall 2018. Follow her @janrather on Instagram & Twitter for more updates about upcoming shows and tour dates.

Brooklyn’s Grand Kid is the eclectic alternative rock, soul, and roots project of singer, songwriter, guitarist Dan Kleederman. Growing up channeling electric blues heroes while equally mystified by the songwriting craft and experimentation of the Beatles, music has always felt to him like disparate pieces asking to be put together. Often compared to the Dirty Projectors, Grizzly Bear, and Jeff Buckley, Grand Kid dives headfirst into the world of love and loss through its unavoidable highs and lows - journeying all the way from otherworldly psychedelia to rootsy lullaby. No matter where the music goes, it carries with it an arresting beauty and warm intimacy.

Often supported by a high flying trio, Grand Kid also performs solo with vintage drum machines, organs, and brass by way of a Panasonic tape player. Grand Kid will release a live EP/video called “We’ll Be” later this summer with a full album coming in 2019.  Follow him @grand.kid on instagram to stay updated on tour dates and upcoming releases.
