Flacco's Bizarre Adventure

Friday - May, 29 @ 10:00pm

Flacco's Bizarre Adventure is a quintet under the direction of guitarist and composer Keenan Ruffin. The group aims to explore his interests in modern jazz, swing, New Music, and other contemporary styles. With influences spanning from the serialist work of Schoenberg, the earthy yet cerebral jazz of Mingus, and the colorful buoyancy of Tyler, the Creator, Ruffin aims to make sense of these possibilities, with the slight chance uncovering what's left to be explored in modern musical practice.
Personnel:
Keenan Ruffin- Guitar/Compositions
Scott Kiefner- Bass
Alex Ouellette- Drums
Max Richardson- Trumpet
Jett Tachibana- Alto Saxophone
Keenan Ruffin is a Northern New England based instrumentalist and composer with a penchant for cute, complex, cheeky and cumbersome musical aesthetics. He is currently in his final year of the Bachelor of Music in Performance (jazz studies concentration) degree at the University of Southern Maine, where he studies with reputable performers Gary Wittner, Keith Crook, and Chris Klaxton.
