Frank Hopkins & The Workshop
Tuesday - January, 14 @ 7:00pm
In his own words, “I’ve been described by one local pundit as the Buffy The Vampire Slayer of the Portland music scene. You’d have to look that one up to know what it means, I can’t actually remember that show. I took a long time off from performing the last few years and just listened to a whole lot of songs, and developed a whole new depth of respect for the workshop. The woodshed. The place that songwriters go to work every day to put pen to paper and harmony with lyric, and whether they come up with anything useful or sh*t, they go back the next day and try again, all for a completely impermanent subjective art form that will fade on the air long before we are all dust again. Cheery, right? So, think Todd Snider or Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen or Tyler Childers or Mavis Staples, and you know where I’m coming from, even if you don’t remember that episode either.”
Appearing on this date with him as ‘The Workshop’ will be Samuel Grant Whitman on guitar, Ryan Benoit on drums, and Ryan ‘Ursa Minor’ Beagan on bass.
