the "Sappy" Hour with Hannah Daman, Tara Rook & Dead Gowns
Thursday - February, 14 @ 5:00pm
Special VALENTINE'S DAY happy hour with INDIE/FOLK songstress, HANNAH DAMAN, TARA ROOK, & TBD.
hannah daman first cut her teeth in glasgow, scotland writing and playing songs about her childhood in rural new england. after striking out on a north american house show tour in 2014 she ended up rooting in portland, me. there she joined locals, megan Sabine, Francesca Martelle, and dan Capaldi to form the atmospheric folk project, Sibylline.
Tara Rook is a multi-instrumentalist electronic and ambient musician, writer and producer. Though deeply rooted and educated in classical piano, she ventured into sounds like Philip Glass and Jon Brion at a young age, opening her ears to a world of musical creativity. She began writing music in college and to this day continues to use Abelton to produce and record her sounds. Her current passion project is Just Milk.
Dead Gowns “It’s hard to describe Beaudoin’s prowess without coming off a little obsessive but here’s what’s known: she’s just too damn good and we’re not worthy… Dead Gowns play the music we sing along to while we’re driving and tear up to once we’re parked.” WURI
"Her voice brings Lucinda Williams’ to mind — that Southern timbre and boozy drawl — yet Beaudoin’s range is wider. At times as delicate as glass, it can swell and swoop into high-lonesome yodel range with ease, fall back and land flat on a dime... " The Bollard
"Fresh off the release of a new EP, this indie-folk-rock quartet is subtle and good. Have an ear out for our favorite track,“Kansas” — Beaudoin’s vocals shine the most here, and the melancholic guitar work pleasantly builds up across the five-minute runtime." Portland Phoenix
