Oliver Waterman is a Classical Guitarist and singer/songwriter. He released his first studio album "Lament" Sept 2015 and is constantly writing and performing his own music. He has been in several different bands over the years like Rural ghosts, Dixon Pendejo Trash and The Wicked Woods. Currently he is working entirely on classical guitar repertoire both original and traditional and plans on releasing his first solo guitar album in 2018.
“Waterman borrows a page from the Jeff Buckley vocal playbook, with a powerful, multi-octave croon put to its best effect on album closer “Lament,” the title track, a seven-minute, slow-building epic that’s the best thing on the album overall; raw, impassioned and exciting.” - Emily Burnham, Bangor Daily News (Oct 06, 2015)
“• Meanwhile, this new EP by local balladeer OLIVER WATERMAN is totally worth a listen. Probably the most interesting local songwriter to recall Jeff Buckley in a while. It's pretty raw, sure, but its six songs show a ton of promise. Waterman's still quite young, but has been playing out for years already and has built up some serious musical chops. And of course, that voice is gold.” - The Wax Tablet, The Portland Phoenix (Apr 11, 2012)
“The compilation climaxes with a stunning acoustic guitar piece from Oliver Waterman, a sobering coda to a wild ride that makes the perfect album closer. These days, Waterman also is a member of Rural Ghosts, so it’s fitting that his and the Rural Ghosts’ tracks are the bookends for the record. With playing this fluid and this beautiful, no vocals are needed.” - Rick Johnson, Portland Press Herald (Oct 24, 2013)
