Savoir Faire presents "WHEN THE PAWN"
Friday - July, 24 @ 10:00pm
On November 9th, 1999, Fiona Apple released her sophomore album, "When the Pawn." 20 years later, the Grammy nominated album's influence can still be felt in today's wave of female singer/ songwriters. In honor of the album's longevity and influence, Savoir Faire will be performing the work in its entirety, with the help of a magnificent backing band. Join her as she celebrates the music of Ms. Apple, recently dubbed the "godmother of 2019" (NPR) for her musical influence.

Savoir Faire is the stage name of Boston based singer/songwriter and guitarist Sarah Fard. Trained in jazz guitar but inspired by rock and roll, Savoir Faire fuses genres in what has been described as " A sort of rock- and ’60s-lounge-inflected jazz" (Victor Infante). With a unique vibrato, often paired with a warm guitar tone, her vocals can recall the crooners of decades past. However, Savoir Faire employs just as much nostalgia as she does relevancy: contemplative- and occasionally biting- lyrics and edgy guitar riffs remind listeners that she has no time for love songs in her own writing. Savoir Faire songs contemplate issues of equality, technology, and what it means to be human.
