Sparxsea + Emily Bodley

Thursday - November, 21 @ 7:00pm

An acoustic evening with Sparxsea, Emily Bodley and guest musicians.

Singer-songwriter Emily Bodley has been known to charm audiences with her “unique, captivating” voice. An acoustic artist often compared to the stylings of Norah Jones and Joni Mitchell, Emily boasts an eclectic musical set that ranges from smooth jazz to upbeat pop strung on her ukulele.

Sparxsea is an artist who blends acoustic instrumentation, soulful vocals and down-tempo beats with adroit lyricism and modern folk sensibility to create a sound entirely her own. In the tradition of cross-genre acts like Postal Service, Sufjan Stevens, and Colbie Caillat, Sparxsea's music weaves effortlessly between emotional anthems and inspiriting psalms that deal with hard hitting topics like loneliness and depression as it captures the essence of healing and salvation. On her 2018 debut EP, SHINE, Sparxsea navigates a lyrical road map through accepting the loss of her mother to drugs and alcohol in 2011. It is this journey from darkness to light that is the very essence of Sparxsea's music, which has helped her songs gain notable exposure in over fifty countries such as the UK, Italy, Japan, Russia, Germany, Australia, France, Canada and the US.

Sparxsea is now back in the studio working on her sophomore effort, entitled "On The Sea". The album is being co-produced by Will Holland (Pixies, Fall Out Boy) and Will Bradford (SeepeopleS, theWorst, Nth Power), and it is being recorded at the legendary Chillhouse Studios in Boston.
