The Renovators…What kind of name is that for a band? Good question. Most likely because Bob Rasero made a living building and fixing houses and it sounded good at the time and stuck. Hey, it could have been the Carpenters, but it is what it is .
Just like a good old house with good bones, they’re still around and seven albums later, are still rockin and writing fun, funky, topical, bluesy tunes. Songs about the power of love and the power of money. Songs asking for truth and others critical of the wacky political scene and the creeps that wrap flags around everything… And even one about Rodney King. Why can’t we just get along anyway?
But there’s also fun songs about kids and family, good ole girls and going fishing for the big one.
Songs about little gardens and lonesome whistles.
Mellow tunes about movin’ along because it must be love..
Others about going to work with these hands and coming home to the girl you thought you knew.
So try not to do without this band. They’ve played every function and venue up and down the east coast, city to suburb, country club to country blues. Opened for and backed up the greats with too many stories to remember…
All that’s left is the blues…
