The Road Cases

Friday - May, 18 @ 6:00pm

The Road Cases play Blues with a feeling.  Tom Smith (guitar, vocals and harmonica) and Jake Smith (percussion) have been collaborating on this project for more than a decade together and have some great stories to tell.  The Road Cases are working on a new CD, produced by James Montgomery, which spans several styles of Blues music from jumping Swing, to Soul, Rock and Roll, Cajun, and Funk; from Chicago back down to the Delta, and everywhere else the Blues goes along the way.  What happens when the Road Cases get together? You’ve got to check it out for yourself!

Tom has been playing guitar for over 50 years! From El Paso, he is truly a natural born Texas guitar slinger.  Although he is currently living on the East Coast, he played guitar on the West Coast back in the ‘60s.  It is always an emotional thing that gets his guitar mojo working and it is felt in his bluesy harmonica and seasoned vocal work too.

Jake has been playing drums since he was old enough to hold the sticks; there are pictures to prove it, but you don’t need pictures to tell he has dedicated his life to his craft. He has got that magic touch that can only belong to musicians who have natural talent but don’t take it for granted. His formal studies started at a very early age and continue to this day, but when you combine that with his feel and his love for music, you get a connection that is as captivating to listen to as it is to watch!
