The Shank Painters

Wednesday - December, 12 @ 5:00pm

The Shank Painters are a pirate-themed folk trio from Portland, ME featuring accordion, guitar, percussion, and voices. Their repertoire consists of sea shanties and rollicking tavern songs from the Golden Age of Sail, which were historically used to keep work aboard a ship in rhythm or to simply pass the time when the winds weren't blowing. Since these songs were meant to be sung together, the Shank Painters encourage audience members to sing along with the catchy choruses and refrains which have made these songs stand the test of time.
